Transition + Upgrade Your Spring Skin Care Ritual

Spring is a great time to refresh your skin care routine. Everyone has their own unique skin type which tends to shift based on things like season and lifestyle changes. In general, the skin benefits from some lighter weight moisture options, brightening and exfoliation to get rid of dead winter skin cells, and a good, tinted SPF that you can wear when you're active outside and don’t want to wear a lot of makeup.

Skin care routines are not only beneficial to the health of your skin but also a great ritual to uplift you mentally and give you feelings of renewal, which is perfect for spring. For the spring skin care routines, I added a botanical steam, a chilled rose quartz roller, and aromatic steamed towels.

Of course, if you are in a rush in the morning trying to make it to work or school on time, I’d recommend a simple morning routine that can be done partially in your shower and keeping your extended routine for the evening.

Morning Skin Care Routine

In the shower

- If you have time, do a quick body dry-brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system before you jump in the shower (good for healthy skin from within and overall wellness)

- Drop a few drops of lemon and lavender (or essential oil of your choice) into your shower

- Cleanse your skin with Hydra-Bright AHA Cleanser

- Exfoliate your skin with Brightening Polish

After your shower

- Tone with Phyto-Calm Flower Mist

- Apply Hydra-Bright Vitamin C Drops

- Apply the Hydra-Bright Eye Cream

- Apply the Hydra-Bright AHA Hydrator

- Apply C-Shield Anti-Pollution Moisture Tint SPF 30

Evening Skin Care Routine

Setting some time aside before bed to unwind with some gentle yoga or meditation and some journaling followed by a candle lit skin care ritual will leave you relaxed, refreshed, and ready to get some good beauty sleep.

- Start by boiling some water for your botanical steam. Prepare a large bowl with a few of your favorite herbs. I love lavender, rosemary, and lemon. You can even add a couple of drops of essential oils if you’d like. You will also need a large towel on the side.

- Prep a second bowl with hot, but not boiling, water and with a couple of drops of essential oils and a soft washcloth and a third small bowl with ice water for your rose quartz roller and gua she tools.

- Cleanse your skin with Hydra-Bright AHA Cleanser

- Apply the warm washcloth to your face and apply compressions all over as you deeply inhale and exhale a few times, then remove the cleanser. Refresh your bowl water

- Apply a mask- my faves for spring are Hydra-Bright AHA Glow Mask, Charcoal Detox Mask, or Phyto-Active Firming Mask

- Pour your boiling water into your bowl filled with herbs and position your head over the bowl and cover with the large towel to create a tent-like structure. Sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing your skin to absorb the steam which will help the mask penetrate deeper into your skin. You can take this time to do a guided or non-guided meditation or simply some deep breaths while being in the present moment

- By now your water should be warm but not boiling (might want to test first) and perfect to use to apply the washcloth and perform compression and remove the mask

- Apply your chilled rose quartz roller over face in outward movements

- Apply Hydra-Bright Pro 5 Liquid Exfoliant and allow to absorb

- Tone with Phyto-Calm Flower Mist

- Apply GlyPro Retinol Drops

- Apply the Hydra-Bright Eye Cream

- Apply the Hydra-Bright AHA Hydrator

Your evening skin care ritual is complete. Think of all the things you are grateful for, put on a sleep mask, and enjoy a restful, refreshing night’s sleep.
