5 Holistic Skin Care Tips for People Over 50

Just like so many things in life, skin care is not a one size fits all formula. What is balancing for one person might make another person break out, become overly dry, or produce more oil. If you are over 50, there is a good chance you would like to start focusing on ageless beauty. Products, treatments, and techniques that focus on firming the skin, increasing collagen production, lifting, plumping, and hydrating. Here at citron, we take an inner and outer approach to all things skincare and wellness. We believe that a holistic approach truly produces the best results.

2. Monthly Ageless Beauty Facials

Why do you need a monthly facial? Our facials are formulated to take a holistic approach to wellness and skincare. The Glo Ageless Beauty facial at citron will include a professional-use-only level one peel, clean skincare specifically formulated for maturing skin, and tools and techniques that help improve the overall health of your skin. We focus heavily on deep relaxation and stress relief through aromas, steamed towel compresses, and nurturing massage that improves blood flow and has a host of anti-aging and wellness benefits. A private infrared sauna session is also included with your facial (which we will talk about next). The best mind-body results are seen when facials are done on a month-to-month consistency, which is a benefit of our Lifestyle Memberships.

3. Infrared Sauna Sessions

We combine our facials with a private infrared sauna session to enhance the inner and outer wellness and skin health results we desire. Stand-alone infrared sauna memberships are also available to reap the benefits on a weekly basis. Near, mid, and far infrared lights penetrate human tissue which in turn produces a host of anti-aging and detoxifying health benefits.

4. Eating Foods to Age Well

Choosing foods that nourish your wellness and skin from the inside out is at the foundation of a good holistic skincare plan to age well. Eating a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables, staying hydrated, and incorporating lots of omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants is a great place to start. 5. Keep Moving: Exercise

Not only does exercise get endorphins flowing, reduce stress, and improve mood, but it also helps increase blood circulation, providing more oxygen and nutrients to our skin cells. When we sweat through exercise, we also help our bodies rid themselves of toxins that can affect our overall bodies and skin health. Another skin benefit of exercise is that it helps increase collagen production in both your muscles and face.
