Your Autumn Wellness Guide for Skin, Body, and Emotional Balance

1. Introduction: The Beauty of Seasonal Transition

Fall has officially arrived, and for me, the summer seemed to just fly by this year. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and our summer was definitely fun-filled: a trip to the Poconos for my daughters’ dance competition with great friends, a trip to Seattle with my mom to visit my brother and nephew, trips to the beach, and summer cookouts with friends and family.

After all of these fun-filled summer days begin to wind down, the cool crisp air starts to creep back in, the kids are back to school, the days get shorter, and we are back into our daily structured routines. But all in all, I welcome the cozy fall days to come, looking forward to comforting fires, hot tea, and Halloween movies curled up with my family and pets on the couch.

The change from summer to autumn also brings about changes in our skin and our moods. There is less humidity in the air, which can cause drier skin, and with drier skin comes signs of aging. Our moods and energy also shift when seasons change, and for me, autumn tends to be the most noticeable transition.

It’s the season that change is most evident, watching the leaves change color, the temperature shift, and the daily routine of life change fairly quickly. This can bring about stress as we have less care-free time and have more activities to keep track of. Our sleep can also get thrown off with the time change as our circadian rhythm shifts. This can lead to fatigue and irritable moods.

All of this considered, I actually enjoy structure and I find the returning routines of Autumn help me get back on track with my wellness lifestyle. I am able to get back into a better routine and feel more organized with my work, I meal prep more, my girls are back in dance, so I plan my yoga classes and workouts around their classes, and I honestly enjoy slowing down and relaxing more in the autumn after the high-energy activities in the summer come to a close.

2. Skin Care for Seasonal Shifts

As the air turns cooler and drier, our skin often feels the effects of this seasonal shift. The drop in humidity, combined with indoor heating, can leave skin dry, tight, and dehydrated. Sun exposure from the summer months may also show up as uneven tone or dullness.

This makes autumn the ideal time to focus on hydration, gentle exfoliation, and nourishing treatments that restore your skin’s glow and strengthen its barrier before winter.

That’s why each autumn, we design a collection of seasonal spa rituals to bring your skin, body, and emotions back into balance. Our curated Fall Skin and Wellness Treatments combine locally sourced herbs, clinical skincare, and deeply restorative rituals, crafted to help you reset and radiate through the season ahead.

Our most-loved facial for this season is:

Autumn Pumpkin Recovery Facial

Soothe seasonal skin changes with this restorative facial featuring chamomile and rosemary, locally sourced herbs that hydrate, calm, and revive. Gentle exfoliation with pumpkin enzymes refines texture, while nutrient-rich oils and stress-relieving massage restore inner and outer balance. A hydrating mask and aromatic rosemary steamed towels leave skin refreshed, radiant, and ready for the cooler season.

90-minute upgrade includes Light Therapy and an additional herbal mask.

Private infrared sauna session included.

3. Body Wellness in Autumn

Just as our skin feels the seasonal shift, so does the body. Autumn is the perfect time to slow down, strengthen immunity, and restore circulation so you feel grounded and energized heading into the cooler months.

·       Support immunity with seasonal foods like ginger, turmeric, elderberry, and lemon tonics that nourish and protect. At Citron, every treatment includes a complimentary ImmuneSchein Ginger Elixir, including blends of elderberry, ginger, turmeric, and lemon. It’s also available for retail, so you can continue to nourish your body and support your immunity at home.

·       Detox + circulation with infrared sauna sessions, dry brushing, and massage to release toxins and keep energy flowing.

·       Movement practices such as gentle yoga, mindful walks in nature, or restorative stretching help keep the body balanced and the mind clear.

·       Autumn Recovery Body Ritual: Ground and revitalize your body with this seasonal full-body therapy. The ritual begins with a detoxifying dry brush, followed by a chamomile and rosemary scrub and masque to smooth and nourish the skin. A scalp treatment with warm herbal oil and a deeply relaxing massage, enhanced by hot stones and aromatic rosemary steamed towels, eases tension, stimulates circulation, and restores equilibrium.

Extended sessions include additional massage and enhanced herbal care.A private infrared sauna session is included with each service.

In the fall, I love having immunity-boosting tea rituals, hot rosemary baths, cleansing sauna sessions, hot yoga, and even immunity-boosting soups. Basically, anything that is warm, comforting, and nourishing to my health makes me feel grounded and balanced going into the new season.

4. Emotional Balance and Inner Glow

As I talked about earlier, as the seasons change, it’s common to feel the effects not only in your skin but also in your mood. Shorter days, busier schedules, and shifting routines can bring on stress, overwhelm, or seasonal fatigue. Taking intentional time to care for your emotional well-being is just as important as nourishing your skin and body.

Simple practices like meditation, breathwork, journaling, or aromatherapy create space to pause and reconnect with yourself. Even a few minutes each day can restore clarity and ease.

At Citron, we’ve found that aromas play a wonderful role in emotional balance:

·       Lemon uplifts and brightens, helping you feel lighter and more energized.

·       Rosemary sharpens focus and stimulates circulation, refreshing mind and body.

·       Lavender soothes the nervous system, inviting calm and rest.

Moments of aromatic inhalation are woven into every treatment, helping you cultivate inner balance so your natural radiance shines.

5. At-Home Rituals for Autumn Radiance

Caring for your skin and well-being doesn’t need to stop when you leave the spa. Simple daily rituals can help you stay grounded, balanced, and radiant throughout the season. Here are a few of our favorite autumn practices you can enjoy at home:

·       Steam shower with eucalyptus or rosemary – Place a few drops of essential oil on the shower floor (away from direct water) and let the steam surround you. The invigorating aroma opens the breath and clears the mind.

·       Epsom salt bath with lavender or orange oil – Add a few drops of oil to a cup of Epsom salt before sprinkling into warm bath water. This ritual soothes muscles, melts stress, and restores calm.

·       Evening skincare ritual with botanical steam, aromatic steamed towels, and facial massage – Take a few extra minutes at night to make your skincare ritual deeply relaxing and restorative. After your cleanser, exfoliant, and maybe a hydrating mask, cover your head while hovering over a bowl of steamy water and herbs. Remove your mask with an aromatherapeutic steamed towel infused with a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil. I love grounding aromas like rosemary in the fall. Next, massage your moisturizer or facial oil into the skin. Gentle, intentional movements improve circulation while helping you unwind before rest.

Even the smallest practices can become powerful rituals. By pausing for a few moments each day, you create space for balance, grounding, and an inner glow that carries into every season.

As the season transitions, I always remind myself that this is another opportunity to reconnect with my self-care and deepen my self-nourishment so that I can practice finding balance throughout life’s changes.
