Immune Boosting Self-Care Rituals for Autum

ree

As the days get shorter and the air grows cooler, I always notice my body craving a little extra self-care. Autumn is beautiful, but it can also challenge our immune system. There is less sunlight, back-to-school germs (my daughters have already brought bugs home), busier routines, and that subtle seasonal fatigue that creeps in.

Instead of seeing this shift as a setback, I like to think of fall as a chance to ground, slow down, and strengthen our wellness practices so we feel resilient through the colder months ahead.

For me, I bring back my evening chamomile and lavender tea ritual, light an autumn candle, cozy up on the couch with my girls after dance, and talk about their days, then and journal or read my book before bed.

Seasonal Foods That Support Immunity

One of my favorite ways to care for myself in autumn is through healthy foods and herbs. I get back on track with a healthy weekly market run and prep and I love stocking up on our Immune Schein ginger elixirs from the spa that a packed with immunity-boosting healthy ingredients like:

  • Ginger: Warming and circulation-boosting, ginger also soothes digestion.

  • Turmeric: An anti-inflammatory superstar that protects and restores.

  • Elderberry: Rich in antioxidants to defend against seasonal colds.

  • Lemon: A daily dose of Vitamin C that keeps skin bright and immunity strong.

Here is a simple recipe:

Warm Immune-Boosting Tea

  • Fresh ginger slices

  • A sprig of fresh rosemary or mint

  • A quarter cup of Immune Schein ginger elixir (right now I love the Elderberry)

  • Hot water

  • Squeeze of lemon

  • Honey to taste

Spa Rituals for Seasonal Resilience

Autumn is the perfect time to incorporate rituals that support not only your skin but your entire immune system. At Citron, we weave these healing practices into our seasonal treatments:

  • Infrared Sauna: Promotes detoxification, strengthens immunity, and eases muscle tension.

  • Massage: Helps circulation and lowers stress hormones that can weaken immunity.

  • Dry Brushing: Stimulates the lymphatic system, gently supporting your body’s natural detox.

I feel like there is nothing better than stepping out of a sauna session and feeling so much lighter and calmer, then heading in for a deeply relaxing, stress-relieving massage. It really is a reset for my body and mind.

At-Home Rituals for Daily Care

Self-care doesn’t need to be difficult or extensive. Small, consistent practices make a big difference. A few I often recommend:

  • Evening bath with rosemary or eucalyptus oil essential oil: opens the breath, eases stress.

  • Herbal tea ritual: create a bedtime wind-down routine.

  • Daily walk outdoors: fresh air boosts mood and supports Vitamin D levels. This is a non-negotiable for my mental health.

  • Breathwork or meditation: calms the nervous system, restoring balance.

I love starting my day with my hot lemon water and breathwork, followed by a quick journal session and gratitude list before my walk. Again, it doesn’t need to be extensive. I actually use the Calm app, and it helps keep me on track and is great for busy moms and business owners.

This season, remember that immune care is self-care. Whether through food, spa rituals, or daily practices, every small step supports your body, mind, and skin as we move into the cooler months.

I hope this blog inspired you to make your health a priority this season!

With wellness,

Christina
